Students may work with the collections, research, or education teams, conducting research for exhibits, learning how to handle and care for artifacts, or assisting with the development of educational programs for children. Students seeking certification as social studies teachers are encouraged to apply for internships for the summer, when the museum can provide opportunities to work with children in community education programs.
Requirements:
Students must consent to a criminal background check and a drug screen. Students must complete the minimum number of work hours (125 hours, undergraduate; 140 hours, graduate), attend all training sessions and meetings as required by their supervisor, and keep a journal.
